Mendix approached me for “Art of the Possible” use cases after my initially accepted use case was put on the back-burner due to COVID-19 shutting down #MendixWorld2020 as originally planned in Rotterdam. What I gave them was a glimpse into the power of Mendix on SAP HANA Cloud! Link provided to the session.
When used correctly, Calculated Attributes enhance the apps by handling basic calculations at run time; Used poorly and they will damage your app performance. In this use case I walk through a sample app based on a real-world problem to explore the performance issues and a couple of strategies to improve performance to the correct standard.
